A Dog

The female members of the Engel family (four girls, two female goldfish, four female guinea pigs) are entertaining the idea of having a dog. The only male member offers valuable and insightful opinions about the challenges of having a dog. So far common wisdom seems to keep control of the situation. Now Lena (5 years) snuggled up last night to me -smiling and giggling of joy-, telling me that she wrote a letter to Santa Claus. She informed me that therefore we will have a Pekingese dog for Christmas. Now I am considering writing a letter to Santa as well ... just to make sure he gets insight before he makes any far reaching decisions ...

A Paper Lost

Lena -3 yr. old- came into my office and crawled on my lap. With my soft voice I said: "Lena, I can't play with you. I have to work so that we get money and we can buy more sausages; then you can eat more sausages.". She:"... but Daddy there are lots of sausages in the refrigerator. You saw it ...". Me:"Yeah, but soon you will have eaten all of them.". She:"ok, I don't eat sausages anymore." She won -> paper lost ...
